Transpennine Route Upgrade: no trains to / from / via Huddersfield, or between Leeds and York on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 October

Engineering work is taking place between York and Leeds / Huddersfield, closing some lines.

CrossCountry:

Trains to / from North East England / Scotland will not call at Wakefield Westgate or Leeds.

If you're travelling between York and Leeds / Wakefield Westgate, you can use your ticket on Northern train / bus services or TransPennine Express bus services between York and Leeds. From Leeds, you can use any alternative Northern service to / from Wakefield Westgate at no extra cost.

Northern:

An amended train service will operate between:

Hull / Selby and York - Trains will be diverted via an alternative route between Selby and York and will not call at Sherburn-in-Elmet, Church Fenton and Ulleskelf. Buses will be provided between Micklefield and York, calling at Sherburn-in-Elmet, Church Fenton and Ulleskelf. Customers travelling between Selby and Sherburn-in-Elmet should travel via Micklefield.

York and Blackpool North - Trains will start / terminate at Leeds.

York and Leeds (local stopping services) - Trains will run between Selby and Leeds. Buses will be provided between Micklefield and York, calling at Sherburn-in-Elmet, Church Fenton and Ulleskelf.

Sheffield and York - Trains will not run. Train services are available between Sheffield and Moorthorpe. Buses will be provided between Moorthorpe and York.

Huddersfield and Sheffield - Buses will be provided between Huddersfield and Lockwood / Penistone. Trains will run between Lockwood / Penistone and Sheffield.

TransPennine Express:

An amended train service will operate between:

Saturday:

  • Newcastle and York
  • Leeds and Manchester Victoria
  • Scarborough and York
  • Stalybridge and Manchester Airport
  • Hull and Liverpool Lime Street
  • Redcar Central and York

Sunday:

  • Newcastle and York
  • Leeds and Manchester Airport
  • Scarborough and York
  • Hull and Liverpool Lime Street
  • Stalybridge and Manchester Piccadilly
  • Redcar Central and York

Rail replacement buses will operate between:

  • Huddersfield and Stalybridge (stopping and express buses)
  • Brighouse and Huddersfield
  • York and Leeds
