No trains between Crowborough and Uckfield today

A fault with the signalling system at Uckfield means that all lines running to / from this station are closed.

As a result, trains are currently unable to operate between Crowborough and Uckfield. Services running between London Bridge and Uckfield will be revised, operating between London Bridge and Crowborough only.

This is expected until the end of the day.

Customer advice:

Southern services between London Bridge and Uckfield will run between London Bridge and Crowborough only.

You will need to use an alternate method of transport to get to your end destination so please allow an additional 40 minutes to complete your journey.

There will be no service at:

  • Buxted
  • Uckfield

You should use your ticket on Brighton & Hove Bus routes 29 / 29B / 29X between Crowborough and Uckfield. You can also use your ticket on this bus service to connect with alternative services to/from London, connecting for Southern services at Lewes, or Southeastern services at Tunbridge Wells.

Tickets are being accepted at no extra cost on:

  • Alternative Southern services between Lewes, Haywards Heath and London Victoria
  • Thameslink services between Haywards Heath and London Bridge
  • Southeastern services between Tunbridge Wells and London Bridge
  • Brighton & Hove Bus routes 29 / 29B / 29X and 29A between Brighton, Lewes, Uckfield, Crowborough, and Tunbridge Wells

Can you tell me more about the incident?

Train services have been disrupted due to a signalling issue in the Crowborough area which means trains cannot run between Crowborough and Uckfield.

Specialist teams are working to resolve the problem as quickly as possible.

There was also a track defect in the Upper Warlingham area earlier today which which was stopping trains from running from Oxted towards East Croydon, these is now resolved but did cause disruption to trains running towards Oxted.
