UK Train Journey Planner

Engineering work is taking place at Huddersfield, closing all lines. Background information on the work can be found below.

Northern:

Huddersfield - Sheffield:

Buses will replace trains between Huddersfield and Lockwood. A few late night / early morning trains will be extended to run between Huddersfield and Penistone.

On Sundays, buses will replace trains between Huddersfield and Barnsley.

Leeds - Manchester Victoria via Dewsbury:

Saturdays and Mondays to Fridays:

An amended service will run between:

• Leeds and Halifax via Dewsbury
• Todmorden and Manchester Victoria

Sundays:

Trains between Leeds and Manchester Victoria via Dewsbury will run normally on Sunday.

Leeds - Manchester Victoria via Bradford Interchange:

Saturdays to Fridays:

Trains will run to an amended timetable.

TransPennine Express:

No trains will run via Huddersfield. Trains will additionally call at Brighouse.

Trains will be diverted to run via Hebden Bridge (not calling). Replacement buses are not yet confirmed, more information on these will be published here when it is known.

The following amended train service will run between:

Saturdays:

• Liverpool Lime Street - Newcastle
• Manchester Victoria - Redcar Central (additionally (calling at Todmorden, Hebden Bridge, Mytholmroyd and Sowerby Bridge)
• Manchester Victoria - Scarborough (additionally calling at Castleton)
• Manchester Airport - Stalybridge
• Leeds - Hull
• York - Wakefield Kirkgate

Sundays:

• Liverpool Lime Street - Newcastle
• Manchester Airport - Redcar Central
• Manchester Victoria - Scarborough
• Leeds - Hull
• York - Wakefield Kirkgate
• Manchester Piccadilly - Stalybridge

Mondays to Fridays:

• Liverpool Lime Street - Newcastle
• Manchester Victoria - Redcar Central (calling at Todmorden, Hebden Bridge, Mytholmroyd and Sowerby Bridge)
• Manchester Victoria - Scarborough (additionally calling at Castleton)
• Leeds - Hull
• York - Wakefield Kirkgate
• Manchester Piccadilly - Marsden

Mondays to Fridays:

• Manchester Piccadilly to Huddersfield (direct)
• Manchester Airport to Brighouse calling at Huddersfield
• Huddersfield to Brighouse (direct)
• Huddersfield to Brighouse calling at Deighton
• Stalybridge to Huddersfield calling at Mossley, Greenfield, Marsden and Slaithwaite
• Marsden to Huddersfield calling at Slaithwaite
• Marsden to Brighouse calling at Slaithwaite (morning and afternoon peak hours only)*
• Huddersfield to Wakefield Kirkgate calling at Deighton and Mirfield weekday (morning and afternoon peak hours only)

* Please nots buses between Marsden and Brighouse will only call at the Peel Street bus stops on A62 Manchester Road in Marsden.

Background information:

The Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) project is a multi-billion-pound programme of railway improvements which will bring better journeys to customers travelling across the Pennines between Manchester, Huddersfield, Leeds and York.

As part of this project, major improvement works are taking place between Stalybridge and Mirfield over a 16-day period. This includes:

• Track and drainage renewals in Huddersfield and Gledholt tunnels
• Installation of new track
• Improvements at Huddersfield and Deighton stations
• Installation of overhead line equipment
